In a communist-controlled East Berlin during the early 1980s, Ludger is recruited by the Stasi to penetrate a rebellious countercultural faction situated in the Prenzlauer Berg neighborhood. As Ludger delves deeper into this clandestine world, he becomes enamored with the enigmatic Nathalie, and also becomes romantically involved with his initial assignment, Corinna. Ludger finds himself leading a double existence - one as a covert poet within the underground movement and the other as a Stasi operative.
